About InvestStack
InvestStack is an independent investing blog for European investors. Every article covers a topic that actually matters for investing from Europe — UCITS ETFs, REIT structures, broker selection, taxation, and long-term portfolio thinking.
The goal is straightforward: give you the knowledge and framework to make better investment decisions yourself. Not tell you what to buy.
Why InvestStack exists
Most investing content online is written for American investors. When it does cover Europe, it often ignores the regulatory framework, the UCITS requirement, the tax differences between countries, or the fact that US ETFs like VOO and VTI are not accessible to most European retail investors.
InvestStack was built to fill that gap — practical, honest, European-specific investing education. No adaptation from US content.
What InvestStack covers
The blog is focused on the building blocks of long-term investing for European investors:
- ETFs — UCITS structure, TER, accumulating vs distributing, how to evaluate and buy a fund in Europe
- REITs — listed real estate, dividend income, European structures, risks and tax implications
- Brokers — how to choose a regulated platform, fee structures, investor protection, platform comparisons
- Taxation — ETF and REIT tax across Europe, including Portugal — IRS, mais-valias, dividendos
- Portfolio basics — asset allocation, diversification, dollar-cost averaging, long-term thinking
How InvestStack works
→ Independent. No products are sold on InvestStack. No brokers, funds, or financial products pay for placement or promotion. When platforms are mentioned, it is for educational context — not because they are paying to be there.
→ European-specific. Every article is written with European regulation, UCITS funds, EU tax regimes, and European brokers in mind. Not adapted from US content that does not apply here.
→ Long-term focused. InvestStack covers evidence-based, long-term investing — the kind that holds up over decades. Not market timing, not stock picks, not get-rich-quick strategies.
→ Education, not advice. Nothing published on InvestStack is financial advice. The goal is to improve your understanding, not to make decisions for you.
Who this blog is for
InvestStack is written for European investors at different stages — beginners who are opening their first brokerage account, intermediate investors building or refining a long-term portfolio, and anyone who wants to understand how the European investing landscape actually works.
If you are comfortable with complexity and already know what a UCITS ETF is, you will still find value here. If you are just starting out and the terminology is unfamiliar, this is exactly the right place to begin.
